One Love Biography

Ibob Kush

Our History

It was mid 1979 and "No Peace With The Beast" was the message pushed by 3 young soldiers rising up out of Hyde Park, Chicago armed with music and on a mission to expose the dangers of Subiminal Seduction, Propaganda and Brainwashing exhibited in society and corrupted media then and now.

Though comming up studying and playing all forms of music from adolesence, it was Reggae music and the teachings of RastaFari that brought the blessings and fuled our spirits for this journey.

Along the way we eventually acquired management from Chucky of the Conquering Lion Records and went on to acquire city ordinances for the first African Festival in Hyde Park as well as help to launch the first 7 nights a week live Reggae Club, The Wild Hair on the northside of Chicago.

This lead to much more exposure and culture conscious works big and small, but the most important blessing to come out of this experience was the respect, support, growth and unity of the immediate and extended family remembered as One-Love Reggae Band.

I and I give eternal thanks , Rydm, Daveed, IbobKush, Wes, Taiku, Chucky, Jah"Son", Mati, Azariel, Jetta, Merna, Maggie, Buff, Jah "T", Elmo, Solomon, Karmush, Moshe........etc.etc..etc.
